Kevin Longino, Anthony Tuggle, and Angelica Hale from National Kidney Foundation (NKF) joined Alexander Gambon from ELONGATE to discuss kidney disease. They further discussed how Elongate’s $150,000 donation would help those who suffer daily from kidney disease.
The donation, made out in Ethereum, is a historic move for NKF as it’s their first donation received via cryptocurrency. In addition, the contribution is another example of Elongate breaking the barriers between the crypto-space and charitable organizations.
As per the current statistics from NKF, 1 in 3 Americans are at risk for kidney disease, 37 million people have chronic kidney disease, 660,000 people live with kidney failure, and 100,000 people are currently waiting for kidney transplants in the USA. Founded in 1950, NKF has evolved into a leading health organization dedicated to fighting kidney disease.
As pioneers of scientific research and innovation, NKF focuses on the whole patient through the lens of kidney health. Relentless in their work, they enhance lives through action, education and accelerating change. You can find more info and donate to NKF at www.kidney.org.
