In Jigawa, Nigeria, there are over 780,000 children without access to quality education. In an effort to promote educational opportunities and awareness, ELONGATE partnered with I Smile Because You Smile (ISBYS) to sponsor the 2021 Jigawa Spelling Bee.
I Smile Because You Smile is a non-profit organization founded in 2017 to promote quality living and education in Nigeria. In partnership with communities, they create strategies to build a better future with improved pathways to stability.
Currently, the education system is in poor condition in Northern Nigeria. The overall goal is to bring things back to the basics, revitalize the education system, advocate, and promote quality education. ELONGATE helped to cover over 60% of the cost of the venue, providing food and prizes for participants of the Spelling Bee.
