Livestream from Human Relief Foundation in Lebanon, $200K Donated

Today, Alexander Gambon from ELONGATE joined Junaid Butt, Adam Kiani, and their team representing the Human Relief Foundation (HRF) during a livestream event. During the stream the Elongate community had a chance to see the impact of their contributions and to peer into the lives of the refugees they helped. Elongate donated $200,000 during the stream, bringing the total contributions to the Human Relief Foundation to over $350,000 to date. This exceeds the initial pledge by $50,000 after the Elongate team decided to top up the initial donation later in the stream.

HRF has been active in Northern Lebanon, providing relief and support. The country has been experiencing a prolonged economic, financial, and refugee crisis, leaving many people needing assistance. These issues have been compounded by the global pandemic. Nearly one million Syrian refugees are living in camps in Lebanon. Inhabitants of these camps live in unimaginably poor conditions and deserve the dignity, safety, and comfort many of us have.

Junaid and Adam streamed live from one of the refugee camps in Lebanon and showed the Elongate community the impact of their contributions. The event also provided a chance for the non-profit organization to highlight the poor conditions of inhabitants of the refugee camps, bringing further attention to the issue. The monetary support given to HRF goes a long way, but awareness will bring about the most impact. The people in these camps are not always viewed or treated humanely. They deserve more than being recognized as just a number or statistic.

HRF is a foundation that focuses its core campaigns around food, water and orphan projects. There is much still to be done in a world where 785 million people lack access to clean water, some 140 million orphans require support, and many millions lack regular access to nutritious food.
